Employee Emergency Fund Exceeds Goal

(Columbus, Ohio)- The Wesley Communities, a faith based not-for-profit, has successfully raised over $30,000 to support the newly established Employee Emergency Fund. The Fund Development team began raising money for the Emergency Fund, which is intended to assist employees who have experienced a recent emergency, as of April 1. Contributions were primarily received from staff members, and residents from Wesley Glen, Wesley Ridge, and Wesley Hospice, which is located on the Wesley Woods at New Albany campus.

The process has already begun. The committee has reviewed two applications for emergency assistance, in which both requests were granted. Total assistance given to date is $1,750. Applications for assistance are kept anonymous, as are the members of the committee.

“It’s just like the song by the Beatles,” explained Mary LeMaster, Development Director. “We get by with a little help from our friends.”

The appeal in support of the fund began with a goal of $20,000, which The Wesley Communities has exceed.

“We look forward to helping even more employees in the future,” explained Cathy Wigton, Chief Development Officer. “We are committed to help our residents and staff thrive, through all the ups and downs of their life journey.”
