Wesley Hospice Receives 2019 Caregiver Award

(Columbus, OH) – On November 13th, 2019, three of our Wesley Hospice aides were recognized by Schoedinger Funeral Home for outstanding achievement in the “Hospice Caregiver Award Group Nomination” due to their hard work and dedication to our patients. While this is the seventh year that Schoedinger has celebrated caregivers by hosting their annual Caregiver Award ceremony, this is the first time in the history of the award that it was given to a team rather than one individual, a true testament to the passion and collaboration our employees put forth daily.

“The best part of being a Hospice Caregiver is the extra time and attention I get to spend with my residents. Every day I get to do things regular caregivers don’t have time to do. For example, I get to have a girls’ day with a couple of my residents where I paint their nails and do their hair. Not a week goes by where they don’t remind me that it’s time to change their nail color or hair style. These special moments brighten my day and remind me why I love what I do,” said one of the award recipients, Bettina Straughter. We are so proud of our staff and feel fortunate to have them as part of Wesley Hospice. Congratulations on receiving this prestigious award!
